Be AdventureSmart
North Wales has some of the most beautiful and dramatic landscapes in the UK –
but it doesn’t come without risks – and we have some of the highest call out rates in
England and Wales to prove that point. So, if you are planning a visit - take a minute
or two to watch this information video on how to stay safe. We will share what you
need to consider – and some of the equipment you need to safely navigate your
chosen route.
And because mishaps sometimes happen, despite even the best laid plans – the
video also tells you how to call us out if you need our help.

Who are mountain rescue?
Did you know that there are 9 rescue teams covering North Wales? And its not all
about mountains – the nine teams include specialists in lowland search and rescue,
caves and underground, water based incidents, as well as specially trained dogs.
This short information video also gives you an insight into our comprehensive
training programme which means that whether you are lost, stuck, or injured – we
will know what to do and have the skills and equipment to do it.

Support us
Mountain rescue responders are all volunteers. Like you, we love the outdoors, and
dedicate ourselves to training so we can help people in danger who need our skills.
That means we give our time for free – but the equipment and kit we need to
respond to a call out is not free. So watch this short information video and consider if
you can support us – with a donation, a fundraising event – or do you have a set of
skills that you can bring to your local team?
